The scheme for certificate of Competency for Yacht Deck Officers is shown in MSN 1802(October 2006).

Five new classes's of Certificate of Competency are incorporated in the new scheme, in line with the Merchant Navy certification process under STCW 95.

These are;
Officer of the Watch (Yacht) Unlimited area, less than 3000gt
(Includes Master code vessels < 200gt 150M from safe haven, unlimited if holding Yacht Master Ocean)
Chief Mate (Yacht) Unlimited area, less than 3000gt
Master less than 500gt (Yacht) Unlimited area
Master (Yacht) Unlimited area, less than 3000gt
